As Kyler Murray has just been announced as the 2018 Heisman winner and winds down his football career before going to the A’s, we take a sneak peek at the 2019 Heisman odds. Enjoy.

Tua Tagovailoa (+200)

He was out of this world this season, and this was despite throwing only four fourth-quarter passes. He was a touchdown machine who hardly ever turned the ball over. He is far-and-away the best QB at Alabama since AJ McCarron and will have a good chance to get the award next season with Kyler out of the way. Assuming he can stay healthy next year and actually play fourth quarters, the numbers will end up being historic. Maybe like Colt Brennan in his days at Hawaii.

Trevor Lawrence (+550)

He came in as a true freshman and was so good that veteran Kelly Bryant opted to transfer out. 2,606 yards and 24 touchdown passes with just four picks— the 6-5 Lawrence was a true beast! He doesn’t run the ball much, but it could be something he works on for next season. Having more reps, and knowing that he will come in as the starter should really help enhance the numbers. He will challenge Tua for the Heisman.

Jake Fromm (+650)

He will be going into his junior season and will look to keep the yards coming. He threw 27 touchdowns to just five picks this season, with 2,537 yards. Overall, he is one of the top QB’s in the nation, but his yards totals do not help to prove that. There are some amazing quarterbacks out there, and his lack of 3,000 yards and 30+ touchdown passes may have him overlooked by the committee. But, a lot could change between now and next season.

Jonathan Taylor (+700)

The Wisconsin RB has been sensational for each of the past two seasons and will be looking for more magic during his junior season. In the last two years, he has rushed for 3,966 yards and 28 touchdowns. These numbers aren’t at all fabricated, and the kid is just sensational. He was one of the favorites this season, but the race turned into a QB’s paradise with so many different players posting big numbers all season.

Trevor Lawrence has one of the top RB’s in the nation to hand the ball off to. Etienne was a scoring machine this year, with 21 rushing touchdowns, and one more receiving. He had an 8.3 ypc average, with 1,464 yards. He kept a great handle on the ball whenever he was handed off to and is a real threat moving forward. We’ll get another chance to see what he’s got in the playoff against Notre Dame, but wow. Just wow. He’s too good.
